The combination of pears and warming spices like ginger and cinnamon is one of my holiday favorites, and this smoothie is a great way to start off Christmas morning in a healthy way.

I love Bosc pears but you can use whatever varietal you find in-season locally.

I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and I wish you the utmost joy, health and prosperity in the coming year!

Ingredients:

  • 10 oz Almond Milk or other non-dairy milk.

  • 1 serving vanilla plant-based protein powder (Kos Organic Plant Protein is my personal favorite!)

  • 1 fresh Pear, stem and core removed

  • 1 Tbsp Sunflower Seed or Pumpkin Seed Butter

  • 1-2 tsp Ginger, freshly grated (I sometimes use The Ginger People Organic Minced Ginger to save time, but fresh is best)

  • 1/2-1 tsp Cinnamon, ground

Directions:

  1. Pour non-dairy milk into your blender, then add protein powder, seed butter, ginger, cinnamon, and lastly the pear.

  2. Blend until smooth and enjoy!

Variations:

  • Spice Level: Use more or less ginger and cinnamon depending on how spicy you like it.

  • No Seed Butter: Use your favorite nut butter or coconut butter instead.
